About Cyn

In 2013 my world was changed forever. A car ran a stop sign resulting in a 90 mph impact collision. I have no memory of the accident. My neck was broken in 5 places plus numerous other breaks and fractures in my body. I had post-concussion syndrome/TBI related issues. On the day of discharge from the hospital, I was scared. For the first time in my life, I was vulnerable and physically incapable of defending myself.

My physical and neurological recovery took 3+ years. I started researching, reading books, watching videos about mindfulness. This was a key element for my brain recovery. Mindfulness took me down the path of self-awareness which introduced me to self-protection. Self-protection opened the door to the world of firearms.

2017 I joined The Well Armed Woman (TWAW) Shooting Chapters. Within a year I became a TWAW Instructor and Chapter Leader. I am an NRA Instructor Certified Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home, Refuse To Be A Victim RTBAV and NRA Range Safety Officer. Certified USCCA Firearms Instructor in Concealed Carry Permit, Home Defense, Countering the Mass Shooter Threat, Women’s Handgun & Self Defense, and Emergency First Aid Fundamentals. I am a CCW Instructor for Legal Heat, The Nation’s Leading Firearms Training Academy.

Smart Woman Defense LLC was created to give women a safe and private environment to learn about firearms without intimidation.  My goal is to educate and train women to know the freedom that comes with being able to defend themselves. You may realize that owning and carrying a firearm is not for you. That is OK! There are other forms of self-defense we can explore together. You may experience a powerful emotional surge the first time you pull the trigger on a handgun. I did! I will promise you… You will learn new skills and a new way of thinking about yourself by attending one of my classes. You will become a Confident Woman….maybe with a Gun.
